Summer Guided Walks Programme

Our Summer Guided Walks Programme consists of a series of exciting, scenic and informative walks hosted by members of our staff, the Department of Conversation (DOC), Pukeiti Rhododendron Trust and Taranaki Regional Council over the summer months.

Cancellations

Walks may be cancelled for safety reasons due to bad weather. Cancellations will be broadcast on Taranaki’s 93.2 More FM, or if doubt call NPDC on 06-759 6060.

Come prepared

Have snacks, plenty of water and suitable footwear as many walks are two or more hours long. Always be prepared with warm and rain-proof clothing as the weather can be changeable. Be sun wise: always wear your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Grades

Easy  - Suitable for the majority of people. The walkway surface is generally level.
Medium  - Requires an average level of fitness and health. The walkway surface will vary in gradient.
Hard  - Requires a good level of fitness and general health. The surface may be rugged and have several gradients. Sturdy footwear recommended.
