General Policies for Council Administered Reserves 2006

This document consolidates policies that apply to all reserves owned and/or administered by New Plymouth District Council. It is intended to provide a common understanding between us and the community of how the reserves in the district will be managed. It aims to help achieve consistency and accountability in decision making while taking into account public interest.

Addition: Smokefree Parks Policy August 2007

Reference: P07-002Smokefree logo.
Status: Approved by the Council on 28 August 2007.

  1. The Council as a matter of policy endorses smokefree parks, playgrounds, sports grounds and walkways.
  2. As signs in Council-controlled parks, playgrounds, sports grounds and walkways are upgraded or replaced the smokefree logo where appropriate will appear on that signage.

Reviewed three yearly (next review 2012).
