Volume 1 - Issues, Objectives, Policies and Rules

This volume contains introductory material about resource management within New Plymouth District. It describes those issues that the community has identified as being significant, and specifies how the policies, objectives and methods (including rules) will be used to manage them.

It also contains a chapter on implementation - explaining what resource consents are, how to apply for one, how they are processed, how the plan deals with cross-boundary issues, and monitoring issues - and a section of definitions to assist with interpretation of the plan.

Note: Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the District Plan available on our website have been edited to provide you with immediate access to updates that have not yet been printed and distributed to plan holders. Please read the unprinted updates to the District Plan table in conjunction with these documents.
