Plan Change 20 Rezone Area Q from Rural Environment Area to Residential A Environment Area

This Plan Change intends to rezone Rezone Area Q from Rural Environment Area to Residential A Environment Area directed by the Framework for Growth (FFG).

Status: A Plan Change is currently being investigated.

Area Q is situated between Wills Road and Airport Drive to the north of State Highway 3 (Devon Road), and is shown in Map 1H from the FFG.

Any rezoning of Area Q is influenced by the Strategic Transport Study, and in particular the proposals within Map 13 of this document to extend Parklands Avenue through Wills Road to Airport Drive and to realign Airport Drive to the De Havilland Drive intersection with SH3.

In early 2011 the Council also approved consideration of the future and possible rezoning of land to the east of Airport Drive (referred to as Area R) in relation to the proposed Airport Drive realignment.

The Council has recently engaged with Area Q and Area R landowners regarding a Preliminary Concept Map as a possible vision for the future of a rezoned Area Q, and the future and possible rezoning of Area R.
